Shipping and returns information

We use a number of carrier companies to ensure that your order is dispatched in the most reliable and economical way. All orders placed on our website are sent as soon as practically possible. If your order contains special order items which are not in stock we will advise you of the approximate delivery date of these.

Shipping United Kingdom

Depending on the weight, size and urgency of your order all parcels are dispatched either by Royal Mails postal services or by our carrier company APC. Carriage charges will vary depending on the value, size and weight of your order. Delivery cost will be calculated by the website when you place your order. You will also be able to choose an urgent delivery option if necessary, delivery to your place of work or a garage.

Please note that deliveries to Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland and off-shore islands will take longer and may incur additional costs. If this happens we will notify you by email/telephone of the amount to obtain your authorisation to proceed with the order. Supplements will be applied for Saturday and timed deliveries.

Shipping charges are calculated by the website and will be displayed when you place your order. The minimum charge for small parcels sent by post start from £3.50+VAT, price for parcels sent by next day carrier start from £8+VAT. Please note that parcels sent by Royal Mail Recorded, Royal Mail Special Delivery and our carrier company will require a signature on delivery. Delivery times will vary depending on the service selected. Please note that we cannot guarantee delivery times for parcels sent by Royal Mail standard postal services.

Shipping EU Countries

We use a number of delivery companies and options depending upon the destination and the speed of service required. For small lightweight orders under 2kg we use Royal Mail Standard and Tracked and Signed services. For larger orders over 2kg to most European destinations we use DPD road service. For large, bulky orders we utilise alternate carrier companies including UPS and TNT. The shipping charges calculated by the website are based on the weight of the goods. For orders that include bulky or oversize items an additional charge may be incurred which will not be reflected in the charge that our website displays. We will advise of the extra charges involved before we ship your order to obtain your authorisation.

Delivery times will depend upon the destination and method of shipping used. Once your order is shipped we will provide you with a tracking number if applicable. Please note that carrier companies do not deliver to PO boxes, so you would need to provide an alternative address for delivery before your order can be dispatched.

VAT at the ruling UK rate (currently 20%) will be applied to the order if shipped within the EU. If you have a valid VAT number please contact us before placing your order so we can advise you of the procedure.

Shipping Non-EU Countries

We use a number of delivery companies and options depending upon the destination and the speed of service required. Delivery charges on orders placed by customers from non-EU countries will be calculated by us on each individual order and we will contact you with the cost of delivery seeking your authorisation to proceed.

Please note that deliveries to non-EU countries might be subject to local import taxes and customs duties which are beyond our control and cannot be quoted for by us or our couriers. They must be paid for by the purchaser at point of entry. These charges are not included in the cost of delivery.

Returns Policy

If you need to return any goods, you must obtain a Returns Authorisation (RA) number from J R Wadhams Ltd. Returned products without an RA number will be subject to delay and possible return to sender. All returned items would need to be physically inspected before an exchange or credit can be issued. All returned goods must be adequately packed to avoid damage in transit and insured with the carrier company used. A proof of shipment must be obtained.

Returns of parts not required – within 7 days

All goods sold by Mail Order are covered by the Distance Selling Regulations 2000, which allow for a seven day ‘cooling off’ period during which you may cancel your order (in writing) by sending us a letter, fax or email with the subject ‘Order Cancellation‘at any time up to and including the seventh working day after the day on which you received your order. If you decide to cancel, you must immediately return to us (at your own cost), the item(s) that you do not wish to keep. Carriage charges are non-refundable. Receipt of your written cancellation would be acknowledged by an issue of a Returns Authorisation number which should be quoted and accompanied by the proof of purchase when returning the goods. All goods must be well packed to avoid damage in transit and insured adequately with the carrier used. Please note that all goods must be in the condition supplied at the point of sale and with their original packaging. Return of goods ‘made to order’ or ordered in specially is not permitted.

Returns of parts not required – within 7 - 28 days

As an added benefit to our customers and in addition to your statutory cancellation rights as detailed above, returns may be considered outside the 7 day cooling off period up to and including 28 days after you receive your purchase. Any offset, credit or refund will be at the discretion of J R Wadhams Ltd. A ‘Returns Authorisation’ number must be obtained prior to the return of any goods. A credit note may be issued to be used against any future order. Any cash refunds will be subject to a handling fee from 15% or £5 min to cover administration and re-stocking costs. Carriage charges are non-refundable. Goods returned must be in their original undamaged packaging and in condition supplied. Return of goods ‘made to order’ or ordered in specially is not permitted.

Returns of parts not required – outside 7 - 28 days

No returns will be considered after 28 days unless covered by the terms and conditions of our Warranty.

Returns of exchange ‘Old Units’

The term ‘exchange’ refers to reconditioned units which will incur a surcharge. This means that we apply a surcharge (deposit) until your old unit is returned to J R Wadhams Ltd. All exchange units must be returned within 30-day period.

Please note that old core MUST be clean, complete, un-modified and serviceable. We reserve the right to retain all or part of the surcharge amount if the unit returned is irreparable, damaged or not identical to the type supplied. Old core parts should NOT be dissembled for inspection purposes and MUST be drained of fluids where applicable.

Warranties

All items supplied are covered by a minimum of 90-day warranty. Most items have a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty unless specifically stated. The warranty period commences from our invoice date and not from the date of installation or first use. Please contact us immediately if you believe that there is a warranty issue and a copy of your invoice is required to proceed any further. Please provide as much information as possible relating to the problem. You must return the defective part to us directly before any action can be taken.

Please note that the warranty only covers the component in question and J R Wadhams Ltd will not be liable for any garage labour costs, breakdown recovery, car hire or any other consequential costs. J R Wadhams Ltd will not accept liability for any failure caused by mis-use, neglect, incorrect installation or a failure of a related component. Warranties are non-transferable and do not affect your statutory consumer rights. Defective parts can only be exchanged and not refunded.

Shortages /Damaged Goods

Parcels must be inspected upon receipt for any shortages, errors or damaged goods. You must notify us in writing within 48 hours of delivery if any items received are damaged. Damaged goods not reported within 48 hours will not be accepted back for refund or replacement. Any shortages and errors must be reported to us in writing within 3 days of delivery.
